ρ_m = 100 / [c_w / ρ_s  + [100 - c_w] / ρ_l]

where

ρ_m = density of slurry (lb/ft³, kg/m³)

c_w  = solids by weight in the slurry (%)

ρ_s =  density of solids (lb/ft³, kg/m³)

ρ_l =  density of liquid (lb/ft³, kg/m³)

Calculating Slurry Density

The density of a slurry where

• the density of solids is 2500 kg/m³
• the density of liquid is 1000 kg/m³
• the concentration of solids is 30%

can be calculated as

 ρ_m = 100 / [(30 %) / (2500 kg/m³) + [(100 %) - (30 %)] / (1000 kg/m³)]

    = 1220 kg/m³
